Overview

A major service strategy within GSG is evidence-based home visiting (EBHV) with the Maternal, Infant and Early Childhood Home Visiting Grant Program (MIECHV) initiative.

The EBHV programs available in Georgia are as follows: Early Head Start – Home Based Option (EHS-HBO), Healthy Families Georgia (HFG), Nurse-Family Partnership (NFP) and Parents as Teachers (PAT).

Extensive research has shown the effectiveness of EBHV in improving outcomes for maternal/child health, home and child safety, school readiness, family safety, family economic self-sufficiency and referrals and linkages to community resources.
